Sharing life together
This is central to following Jesus, caring for each other, transforming lives. At its heart the Christian life is about relationships – with one another, with God, with ourselves, and with God’s creation. Jesus calls us to love in his attentive and generous way. None of us are made to be alone.
Our faith community is intergenerational and growing in diversity, meaning young and old, single adults and families, newcomers to Canada and kids of any age or background are welcome and valued. We pray you will develop several significant friendships among us and find a sense of belonging, rooted in God’s incredible hospitality.
On a regular basis we offer opportunities for the entire church body to share a meal, serve our neighbourhood or just to play together, like wonton-making parties, partnering with Open Doors Society as a donation centre for Syrian refugees, or hosting concerts and film screenings. Read more about our smaller connecting groups below.
Sunday
On Sunday mornings our church family gathers to worship, pray, and listen, learning to be real with one another and God. Kids programs, too, for ages 9 and under. Join us at 10am, 909 Acadia Drive.
Soup & Sandwich Sundays & Summer BBQs
On most first Sundays of the month, stick around after worship for a simple sandwich lunch or homemade soup and buns. It’s an extension of the Lord’s Supper, a way for us to sit together around a meal in Jesus’ presence, embrace new friends and connect with one another. In the summer we invite the neighbourhood to join us on the lawn for hamburgers and hotdogs!
The Old-Fashioned Church Picnic
In June we have a picnic and worship gathering in a park (Pike Lake this year!), to celebrate that year’s kids and Children’s Ministry, complete with games, team sports, and maybe even a photo scavenger hunt!
Family Christmas Brunch
Every December we host a feast to celebrate Jesus’ birthday and bring together our whole community and neighbourhood friends. Along with the catered brunch, we’ve enjoyed musical selections from CPCC kids and an informal worship service that connect us with the Nativity story and with one another.
Of course, friendships are also made and deepened through:
