City-Wide Food Drive
From 11:00 am to 1:00 pmThe Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre is holding its annual City-Wide Food Drive on Saturday, May 4. This food drive will help restock the Food Bank’s shelves with nutritious, non-perishable food to help them through their busiest time – the summer months. The donated food will benefit many community-based organizations. Over 75,000 bags will be distributed to homes in the city by the Star Phoenix in the week prior to the food drive. Printed on each bag is a list of the Food Bank’s MOST WANTED ITEMS, and a request that the bags be filled and placed on doorsteps by 10:00am. Volunteers will go around their specified neighbourhood to collect food from people’s doorsteps. People will go in small groups (one driver and two or three to collect bags). We have committed our church to cover our College Park neighbourhood. Let the office know or add your name to the sign-up sheet in the church foyer if you can help collect food that day.
