A Story Of Homecoming

We’re exploring Jesus’ vivid parable of the lost sons and Rembrandt’s brilliant painting, “Return of the Prodigal Son,” listening for our heavenly Father’s voice calling us home.

  • The Father of Two Lost Sons

Luke 15 In Jesus’ parable of the lost sons, the loving father is the main character. As we are embraced by our Father God, we are called to grow up to be just like our Dad, who welcomes home in compassion and freedom, and who celebrates each person who turns to God with a kingdom feast!

  • The Older Son

Luke 15:11-31, Luke 18:9-14 We may find ourselves in the older son who stayed home but never received his father’s love.

  • Confessions of a Reluctant Peacemaker

Matthew 4:23-5:9 Peace ambassador, Andy Larsen leads us in learning to engage more fruitfully in relationships with Muslim neighbours, coworkers and friends. Included a visit to a mosque, a film & dessert night Friday evening, and a seminar workshop Saturday morning, along with this sermon on Sunday.

  • The Younger Son

Luke 15:11-24 We may see ourselves in the younger son who left home and thought he lost his father’s love.

  • A Story Of Homecoming

Luke 15 As we dive into Jesus’ parable of the lost sons, and encounter Rembrandt’s painting, “Return of the Prodigal Son,” let us heed God’s call to come home and stay home as God’s beloved children.
